Overview
The RDS Rod Coater #18 3/8" is a coating rod made from wear-resistant stainless steel, serving as a reliable tool for drawdown tests. This product is designed to create drawdown effects on soft materials such as cardboard, paper, test cardstock, foil, leather, and textiles. It is particularly suitable for applying very thin coatings, with a wet film thickness of 41.1 μm and a coating width of 30 cm.
Features
1. Manufactured from stainless steel wear-resistant material, it is durable and has a long service life.
2. Capable of applying very thin coatings with a precise wet film thickness of 41.1μm.
3. With a coating width of up to 30cm, it is suitable for various substrates.
4. A reliable tool for drawdown tests, delivering excellent preparation results.
Principle
The RDS wire-wound rod Coater employs a wire-winding production process, where a stainless steel wire rod is used to doctor-coat the substrate surface, forming a uniform wet film coating. Its working principle is based on the specific wire-winding structure and wire diameter (0.46mm) of the rod, which precisely controls the coating thickness to achieve the preparation of thin coatings.
