Overview
The ERICHSEN erichsen433 wet film thickness gauge is a mechanical measuring instrument for wet film thickness measurement on any surface. It is suitable for Glass, Wood, Metal or Plastic substrates. Measurement ranges of 5-100, 100-300, 300-700 and 700-1500 microns per piece are available in stainless steel with high accuracy.
Features
1. Mechanical design, suitable for a variety of substrate surfaces
Measurement range: 5-100 microns, 100-300 microns, 300-700 microns, 700-1500 microns
3. Made of stainless steel, high accuracy
4. The dial instrument is sealed in a chrome-plated metal case, and the pins and pins are designed for easy operation
5. Glass plate fittings included for easy adjustment and calibrating
Principle
The height difference between the coating surface and the exposed substrate area is measured by pins that move freely along the surface, and two legs are placed on the coating surface. The pins are adjusted by a protective sleeve and calibrated on the Glass plate plane.
Applications
On all planes
Standards
ISO 2808、BS 3900:C5、ASTM D 1212、EN ISO 2808
Steps
1. Device: Remove the protective cover and place the instrument vertically on the plane of the Glass plate. If the pointer reading is not zero, adjust it through the slot in the protective cover until the pointer reaches zero
2. Preparation of measurement points: At the measurement point, the coating needs to be carefully scratched off a 3mm area until it reaches the substrate
3. measurement: the instrument on the measurement area, so that the pin in contact with the exposed substrate, dry-film thickness can be directly read, unit um
4. If it is a soft coating, you can put a razor under the foot of the support
Notice
• Make sure the instrument pointer is zero before measurement
• The coating needs to be carefully scratched off the 3mm area to avoid damage to the substrate
• For soft coatings, it is recommended to pad a razor under the foot to stabilize the measurement
• Clean and maintain the instrument in time after use
