Overview
The LENETA P122-10N washable brush is a plastic test board designed for paints and inks coating scrub resistance testing. The product is made of black/white vinyl chloride/acetate copolymer with a smooth matte finish and no plasticizers. It is suitable for various standard test methods such as ASTM D 2486, ASTM D 4213, ISO 11998, etc.

Principle
In a typical scrubbing test, the coating is applied to the Leneta scrubbing sheet at a specified film thickness. After it is dried, it is scrubbed using a linear scrubbing tester. According to the ASTM D 2486 standard, a 10-mil gasket can be inserted under the plate to accelerate coating failure, thus reducing test time. Scrub resistance is assessed by the number of scrubbing cycles required for the coating to be removed to the specified end point. In addition, scrubbing resistance can also be evaluated by measuring the weight loss of the coating after a specified number of scrubbing cycles, and an equivalent film thickness loss is calculated.

Steps
1. Apply the paints or inks coating to the LENETA P122-10N scrubbing sheet at the specified film thickness.
2. Allow the coating through drying.
3. Install the test plate on the linear scrubbing tester.
According to the test standard (e.g. ASTM D 2486), a 10-mil gasket can be inserted under the test plate.
5. Start the tester for a scrubbing cycle.
6. Record the number of scrubbing cycles required for the coating to be removed to the specified endpoint, or measure the coating weight loss after the specified number of cycles.
Notice
• Before testing, make sure that the coating has been through drying as required by the standard.
• Determine whether to use gaskets based on the test standards used (e.g. ASTM D 2486).
• Equipment safety procedures must be followed when operating the scrub tester.
• The test board is a one-time use product, please handle it properly after the test.
