Overview

The set contains a 240mm long film wire-wound drawdown bar and a handle. the bar diameter is 10mm, the effective application width is 210mm, and there are 15mm hand-held parts at each end. the bar is made of 304 stainless steel, with chrome-plated surface, Hardness up to 1300HV, and has excellent Abrasion Resistance and service life. The product is manufactured by cold extrusion process, which has the advantages of unbroken wire and easy cleaning. The outer Encasement is a hard plastic transparent tube with a black soft rubber lid.

Principle
The Spreader Metering rod forms a specific gap (wet film thickness 60 μm) through a wire that is precisely wound on its surface. When in use, place an appropriate amount of liquid to be Spreader on the substrate, hold the handle, and cause the bar to roll or scrape on the substrate at a uniform speed and pressure. The wire gap on the bar surface is precisely controlled and scraped to produce a uniform wet-film coating of a set thickness.

Steps
1. Place an appropriate amount of the sample to be Spreader (e.g. paint, inks, etc.) on one end of the flat substrate.
2. Assemble the coating rod and handle to ensure that the installation is firm.
3. Place the coating rod behind the sample, keeping the rod body perpendicular to the surface of the substrate or at a specified angle.
4. Pressure evenly by hand to push or pull the coating rod forward at a steady and constant speed, so that the sample spreads film formation on the substrate.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the coating rod with a suitable solvent in time, and store it in the Encasement tube after drying.
Notice
• Before use, please check whether the surface of the coating rod is clean, drying and free of damage.
• Spreaders need to ensure that the substrate is flat, the force is uniform, and the speed is constant to obtain a coating of uniform thickness.
• After use, it should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent (such as corresponding thinners) immediately to prevent the sample residue from drying up and blocking the bar gap.
• When cleaning, please use a soft cloth or a soft brush to avoid scratching with hard objects, so as not to damage the surface of the bar.
Store in a dry and clean place to avoid bumping to maintain its accuracy and extend its service life.
