Overview
QTY-32 film cylindrical Bending tester is a professional testing instrument of SHIBO brand, mainly used to determine the flexibility of Paints and varnishes film, which is one of the key indicators to measure the performance of coatings, and has important reference value for the selection of paint varieties. The instrument conforms to the national standard GB6742 and can evaluate the performance of coatings against cracking or disbonding from metal plates when bent around cylindrical mandrel under standard conditions.
Features
Available in a wide range of shaft diameters, including 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, 20, 25, and 32mm, to cover a wide range of testing requirements
2. Manual operation mode, the adjustment handle can be operated freely to ensure smooth and reliable testing
3. Film thickness of the sample below 1.0mm, the number of shaft handle adjustment is greater than 17mm, tight with the test rod when the allowable gap is 0.1mm
4. Compact structure, dimensions of 170 * 110 * 230mm, shipment weight of only 7Kg, easy to use in laboratory and handling
Principle
The tester works based on the principle that the film has different ductility properties to the substrate when the bending radius is different. The flexibility of the film is determined by bending the film sample 180 ° on cylindrical mandrel of different diameters and observing whether the film is cracked or disbonded from the baseplate. The film is evaluated according to its performance on different bending radii.
Applications
Paints, varnishes, coatings performance testing
Steps
1. Spreader, drying and thickness measurement according to product standard requirements
2. Place the tester on the edge of the workbench to ensure that the adjustment handle can be operated freely
3. Select the appropriate shaft rod to insert into the base and tighten it with a manual lock mother
4. Turn the adjustment handwheel to lower the pallet, insert the sample film face down between the shaft rod and the adjustment handle, and press it with fastening screws and beads
5. Turn the adjustment handwheel to lift the bracket so that the sample is close to the shaft rod
6. Lower the adjustment handle to the lowest position, and adjust the pressing shaft knob to make the pressing shaft stick to the sample
7. Lift the adjustment handle 180 ° smoothly within 1-2 seconds to bend the sample 180 °
8. Turn the adjustment handwheel to lower the pallet and take out the curved sample.
9. Immediately check whether the coating is cracking or disbonding, which can be observed with normal vision or 10x magnifying glass
10. Test different diameter shaft rods in sequence from large to small to determine the shaft diameter that causes damage first
11. The test should be carried out at 23 +/- 2 ° C temperature and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity environment
Notice
• In order to prevent damage to the coating during bending operation, the thin paper can be lined on the sample film surface and then tested
• If 10x magnifying glass is used to observe the test results, it should be indicated
• When the minimum diameter shaft rod is used without cracking or disbonding, the diameter of the shaft rod should be indicated
• The long side of the Aluminum Panel should be parallel to the rolling direction
• When the instrument is not used for a long time, all shaft rods should be coated with anhydrous Vaseline
