Overview
The RDS 11 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod manufactured by RDS Corporation in the United States with over 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rods. The product uses the classic "Mayer" wire-wound rod design to control the coating thickness through precise wire-wound. The Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and cost-effective, and is suitable for a wide range of substrate and film thickness requirements.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, it has more than 80 years of professional manufacturing history and reliable quality.
2. Using the classic wire winding rod (Mayer rod) design, it is a popular coating method.
3. The specifications are clear, the wet film thickness is 27.9μm, which is determined by the diameter of φ 0.28mm.
4. The diameter of the main rod is φ 10mm, the total length is 1000mm, the effective application width is 900mm, and the clamping length of 50mm is reserved at both ends.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, and the surface is treated with chrome plating to enhance durability.
6. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
Principle
The working principle of the wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. As the rod body rolls or scrapes on the Spreader substrate, the precision wire wound around the mandrel forms a series of tiny cavities with the substrate surface. The volume of these cavities is determined by the diameter of the wire, allowing for precise Measurement and transfer of Basis Weight Coating to the substrate, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film coating.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the appropriate wire-wound Applicator rod model (e.g. 11 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (e.g. 27.9 μm).
2. Apply the Applicator rod to the Spreader device correctly to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped.
3. Place the Coating of the Spreader in front of the rod body.
4. Applicator rods roll or scrape across the substrate surface at uniform speed and appropriate pressure.
5. After completing the Spreader, clean up the remaining Coatings on the rod body in time to prevent blockage.
Notice
* Please confirm Applicator rod model (such as wire diameter, rod diameter) matches the required Spreader thickness before use.
* Maintain uniform traverse speed and pressure during operation to ensure consistent Coating thickness.
* After the Spreader is completed, it should be cleaned and maintained in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the steel wire gap.
* The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound, but care should be taken to avoid damage to the rod body or steel wire.
* For high viscosity coatings, Miscellaneous types such as notched rods or double-wound rods may need to be considered to reduce clogging.
