Overview
RDS 15 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods. Its products have become one of the popular film methods due to their simplicity, accuracy, uniformity and economy. The rod body of this model adopts stainless steel 303 mandrel, the surface is chrome-plated, the total length is 1000mm, and the effective application width is 900mm. It is suitable for Spreader process in various industries.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopting the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, the technology is mature and widely used.
3. The wet film thickness is 38.1 μm, the diameter of the steel wire is φ 0.38mm, and the specifications are clear.
4. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface for good durability.
5. Support customization, and can be selected and quoted according to specific needs.
Principle
The product is a wire-wound Metering rod. The Working Principle is to create uniform cavities between the wires by tightly wrapping a stainless steel wire of a specific diameter (φ 0.38mm) on the main rod (φ 10mm). As the Coating passes, these cavities determine the amount of Coating transferred to the substrate, resulting in precise control of the wet film thickness (38.1 μm). The chrome-plated surface helps reduce friction for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the process requirements of Spreader, choose the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 15 #L1000φ 10).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure a stable installation.
3. Adjust the pressure or substrate tension between the Metering rod and the support roller to control the Coating thickness.
4. Start the Spreader operation so that the Coating is evenly transferred to the substrate through the cavity of the Metering rod.
5. Clean the rod body in time after use to prevent Coating from clogging the wire winding cavity.
Notice
• Before use, please confirm whether the model and specifications (e.g. wet film thickness, effective width) of the Metering rod meet the current Spreader process requirements.
• When installing, pay attention to the clamping parts at both ends (50mm each) to ensure that the effective Spreader area (900mm) is aligned with the substrate.
• During operation, the process parameters should be adjusted according to the viscosity of the coating to obtain the best Spreader effect.
• After use, it should be cleaned thoroughly in time, especially the winding gap, to prevent residual Coating curing from causing blockage or affecting the accuracy of the next use.
• Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound to save costs, but need to be operated by professionals.
• For higher viscosity coatings, consider using models such as notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging.
• This product is a precision tool, please keep it properly to avoid bumping or bending, so as not to affect the uniformity of the Spreader.
