Overview
RDS 18 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod (wire winding rod) produced by RDS Company in the United States, which is a classic "Mayer" rod. The product adopts stainless steel 303 mandrel, chrome-plated surface, steel wire diameter is 0.46mm, total length 1000mm, effective width application 900mm, wet film thickness is 45.7μm. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod. Its products are favored by users for their Spreader simplicity, accuracy, uniformity, economy and wide applicability.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic wire winding rod ("Mayer" rod) design, which is widely used.
3. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 with chrome plating for better durability.
4. Wire winding rod design allows for disbonding and re-winding of steel wire, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
5. Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and economical, can quickly change the coating weight and film thickness.
6. Applicable to a wide range of substrates, good flexibility.
Principle
The Working Principle of the Mayer rod is to form a specific gap through the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel. As the coating flows through the rod body, the gap between the wires determines the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. By changing the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number), the thickness of the coating can be precisely controlled to achieve a uniform and accurate Spreader effect.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Choose the appropriate rod number (wire diameter) according to the required wet film thickness.
2. Applicator rod properly installed on the Spreader device.
3. Coating evenly flows through the surface of the Applicator rod.
4. Applicator rod by a predetermined thickness of Coating transfer coating to the substrate.
5. After completing the Spreader, clean the Applicator rod in time.
Notice
* After use, it should be cleaned thoroughly in time to prevent the coating from drying up and blocking in the gap between the wires.
* Be careful to avoid bumping during operation, so as not to damage the wire winding and affect the uniformity of the Spreader.
* According to the correct selection of Coating viscosity and required film thickness, for high viscosity Coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging.
* Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound to extend service life and reduce costs.
Store properly to avoid bending or compression deformation.
