Overview
RDS 21 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod of the classic "Mayer" type. It uses stainless steel mandrel chrome plating process, the wire diameter is 0.53mm (corresponding to 21 #specification), the total length is 1000mm, and the effective application width is 900mm. The product originated from the American RDS brand with more than 80 years of history, and is widely used in a variety of industries for its simple, accurate, uniform and economical coating method.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, with more than 80 years of professional production experience.
2. Adopting a classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface, taking into account strength and corrosion resistance.
4. The wire winding rod supports disbonding and re-winding, which helps to save the cost of use and reduce waste.
5. Customized services can be provided to meet specific application requirements.
Principle
The Working Principle of the wire-wound Applicator rod is tightly wound on the mandrel based on a predetermined wire diameter (i.e. rod number). As the rod body rolls on the Spreader substrate, a fixed gap (cavity) is formed between the wound wire and the substrate. Coating flows through this gap and excess Coating is scraped off, leaving a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film on the substrate. The wet film thickness is mainly determined by the diameter of the wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Select the Applicator rod of the corresponding specification (21 #) according to the required wet film thickness (53.3 μm).
2. Applicator rod is correctly installed on the Spreader equipment to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped.
3. Coating is applied to the substrate in front of the rod body.
4. Use uniform speed and pressure to roll the Applicator rod across the Coating area, scrape off excess Coating, and form a uniform wet-film.
5. Clean the rod body in time after use to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the gap between the wires.
Notice
• Before use, please confirm that the rod body model (RDS 21 #L1000φ 10) matches the required Spreader thickness.
• When operating, ensure that the rod body is installed smoothly and rolled evenly to obtain the best Spreader effect.
• Thorough cleaning should be carried out immediately after use to keep the winding gap open and prolong the service life.
• Avoid using sharp or hard tools to clean, so as not to damage the steel wire or chrome surface.
• Storage should be placed in a drying environment to prevent corrosion of the mandrel and steel wire.
