Overview
RDS 22 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod (wire-wound rod) produced by RDS Company in the United States, which belongs to the classic "Mayer" rod type. The product adopts the wire-wound production process, the mandrel diameter is φ 10mm, the total length is 1000mm, the effective application width is 900mm, and the surface is chrome-plated, which is suitable for Spreader applications in various industries.
Features
1. From the professional coating rod brand with more than 80 years of history (RDS was founded in 1936).
2. Adopting the classic Mayer rod design, the technology is mature and widely used.
3. Steel wire can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
4. Provide more than 70 kinds of steel wire size selection to meet different Coating thickness requirements.
5. Accept customization, up to 12 feet long, flexible to adapt to different production needs.
Principle
The Working Principle of the Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the specific gap formed by the winding of the steel wire on the mandrel. As the Coating flows through the rod body, the gap (cavity) between the wires determines the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. By changing the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number, such as 22 #corresponding to the diameter of the wire 0.56mm), the Coating Weight can be precisely controlled to achieve uniform and accurate coating.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the appropriate rod number (such as 22 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (such as 55.9μm).
2. Install the Applicator rod correctly on the Spreader equipment to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped (clamping length 50mm).
3. Coating evenly through the Applicator rod of the effective Spreader area (width 900mm).
4. Applicator rod Coating transfer and uniform Spreader on the substrate surface.
5. After finishing the Spreader, clean the rod body in time to prevent Coating from clogging the wire gap.
Notice
* Coating thickness of the wire winding rod is determined by the diameter of the wire (rod number), and the selection should be matched according to the target wet film thickness.
* After use, it should be cleaned in time to prevent Coating from curing blockage in the steel wire gap.
* Although the wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound to extend the service life, care should be taken to avoid damage.
* For higher viscosity coatings, consider using molded rods, notched rods, or double-wound rods to reduce clogging.
* When installing, pay attention to the pressure between the rod body and the support roller or the tension of the substrate to ensure the uniformity of the coating.
