Overview
RDS 25 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods. Its products are simple, accurate, uniform and economical, and have become one of the popular film methods. The rod body of this model adopts stainless steel 303 mandrel, the surface is chrome-plated, the total length is 1000mm, and the effective application width is 900mm. It is suitable for Spreader process in various industries.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, it has more than 80 years of professional production history.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and cost-effective.
4. Can quickly change the coating weight, film thickness range, a wide range of applicable substrates.
5. The rod body can be disbonded and rewound, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
6. Provide customized services, allowing for specification selection and quotation according to specific needs.
Principle
The wire-wound Applicator rod works based on the Mayer rod coating principle. As the coating flows through the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel, the voids (cavities) between the wires determine the wet film thickness of the final Spreader to the substrate. Measurement and transfer of the coating can be made precisely by controlling the diameter of the wires (i.e. rod number, e.g. 25 #corresponds to wire diameter 0.64mm) and the winding spacing, resulting in a uniform coating on the substrate.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the process requirements of Spreader, choose the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 25 #L1000φ 10).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device.
3. Coating flows through the surface of the Metering rod.
4. Coating is evenly transferred to the substrate through the Metering rod.
5. After completing the Spreader, clean and maintain the Metering rod.
Notice
* There is a risk of blockage in the winding rod and it needs to be cleaned regularly to maintain performance.
* When operating, select the appropriate Metering rod type (such as wire winding, molding, notch or double winding) according to the characteristics of Coating viscosity.
* Pay attention to the effective application width (900mm) of the rod body and the clamping length at both ends (50mm each) to ensure correct installation.
* For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging and line issues.
Customized products need to be submitted through the specified tool and confirmed according to the quotation.
