Overview
The RDS 26 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS Corporation of the United States (founded in 1936). The product uses the classic "Mayer" rod design, which is formed by precision winding a specific diameter of steel wire on the surface of the stainless steel mandrel to form a measurement gap. It is used to Spreader a wet-film of a specified thickness on a substrate. Its Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and cost-effective, and can quickly change the coating weight. It is suitable for a wide range of film thicknesses and a variety of substrates.
Features
1. From RDS, a professional coating rod manufacturer with more than 80 years of history.
2. Adopting the classic wire winding (Mayer rod) process, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. The wet film thickness control is accurate and uniform, and the Spreader method is simple and cost-effective.
4. Can quickly change the coating weight, apply to a wide range of film thickness, good flexibility.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface to enhance durability.
6. Wire-wound rod design allows for disbonding and rewinding of steel wire, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
7. Accept customization and provide solutions according to specific needs.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. Fixed diameter wires are wound at specific intervals on the surface of a precision machined stainless steel mandrel. As the substrate with the coating (or the rod body rotates in the coating) passes through the Metering rod, the gap between the wire and the substrate determines the wet film thickness left on the substrate. Excess coating is scraped off by the wire and retained in the cavities between the wires, resulting in a uniform, Basis Weight Spreader.
