Overview
RDS 27 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod, and its products are widely used around the world. This model is a wire-wound coating rod with a wet film thickness of 68.6 μm. It is suitable for Spreader process of various substrates. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating and high cost-effectiveness.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. Accurate wet film thickness and good coating uniformity.
4. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface for good durability.
5. Support customization and provide solutions according to specific needs.
6. The winding bar can be disbonded and re-wound, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. When the rod body rolls on the surface of the substrate, a fixed gap is formed between the steel wire wound on the mandrel and the substrate. Coating flows through this gap, and the excess Coating is scraped off by the wire, leaving a wet-film coating of uniform thickness on the substrate determined by the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number). This method enables precise control of the amount of Spreader through physical Measurement.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the appropriate rod number (such as 27 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (such as 68.6 μm).
2. Install the Applicator rod to the Spreader device to ensure a stable installation.
3. Place the Coating of the Spreader in front of the rod body.
4. Push or roll the Applicator rod at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure to form the coating through the wire gap.
5. After finishing the Spreader, clean the rod body in time.
Notice
* Please select the Metering rod model correctly according to the Coating viscosity and required film thickness before use.
* Maintain uniform traverse speed and pressure during operation to ensure consistent Coating thickness.
* After use, the rod body should be thoroughly cleaned in time to prevent the curing blockage in the steel wire gap and affect the next use effect.
* Although the winding bar can be re-wound, caution is required to avoid affecting the coating accuracy.
* For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched or double-wound rods to reduce the risk of clogging.
When storing, it should be properly placed to avoid bending or surface damage.
