Overview
The RDS 30 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods. Its products are based on the Mayer rod coating method and have the characteristics of simple, accurate, uniform and cost-effective Spreader, which is suitable for a wide range of substrate and film thickness requirements.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, it has more than 80 years of professional production history.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. The specification is No. 30, the corresponding steel wire diameter is 0.76mm (0.001 inches), and the wet film thickness is about 76.2μm.
4. The diameter of the main rod is 10mm, the total length is 1000mm, the effective application width is 900mm, and the clamping length of 50mm is reserved at both ends.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface to enhance durability.
6. Wire-wound rod design allows for disbonding and rewinding of steel wire, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
7. Accept customization to meet specific application requirements.
Principle
The product is a wire-wound Metering rod with a Working Principle based on the classic Mayer rod coating method. A series of uniform cavities are formed between the wire and the mandrel by tightly winding a stainless steel wire of a specific diameter on a precision-machined stainless steel mandrel. As the rod body rolls during the Spreader process, these cavities determine the volume of Coating transferred to the substrate, thus precisely controlling the thickness of the wet-film. Excess Coating is scraped off, leaving a uniform coating.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 30 #).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped.
3. Adjust the pressure or tension between the Metering rod and the support roller or substrate to control the Coating thickness (for types such as smooth rods).
4. Spreader operation, Metering rod in the substrate surface uniform rolling, transfer Coating.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the rod body in time to prevent the Coating from curing the blockage in the steel wire gap.
Notice
* Please clean the rod body in time before and after use, especially the steel wire gap of the wire winding rod, to prevent Coating curing blockage.
* Be careful to avoid bumping or scratching the surface of the rod body during operation, especially the chrome plating layer and the wound steel wire.
* Choose the type of Metering rod correctly according to the Coating viscosity and the required film thickness.
* For high viscosity coatings, consider using double-wound or notched rods to reduce the risk of clogging.
* Wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound to extend service life and reduce costs.
Store properly to avoid bending or compression deformation.
