Overview
RDS 31 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod produced by RDS Corporation in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in the development and production of Spreader Metering rod, and its products are widely used around the world. This model uses the wire-wound process, which is suitable for a variety of substrates, and can achieve accurate and uniform film. It is one of the most popular choices in Mayer rod coating methods.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, it has more than 80 years of professional production history and reliable quality.
2. Using the classic "Mayer" wirewound rod design, Spreader is simple, accurate, uniform and economical.
3. Can quickly change the coating weight, film thickness range, a wide range of applicable substrates.
4. The rod body can be disbonded and rewound, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
5. Provide customized services, allowing for personalized production according to specific application requirements.
Principle
The working principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. When the coating flows through the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel, the gap (cavity) between the wires determines the thickness of the wet-film. Through the scraping action, the excess coating is scraped off, leaving a uniform, thickness-controlled coating on the surface of the substrate. The size number of the wire winding rod (e.g. 31 #) guides the wire diameter, which directly affects the Spreader effect.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod, molding rod, etc.).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that it is firmly fixed.
3. Coating to be Spreader is applied to the substrate or roll in front of the Metering rod.
4. Start the equipment so that the substrate passes under the Metering rod at a uniform speed, and the Metering rod scrapes off excess Coating to form a uniform wet-film.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking.
Notice
* Please select the correct type according to the parameters such as Coating viscosity and required wet film thickness before use.
* When installing, ensure that the Metering rod is parallel to the substrate or support roller, and the pressure is uniform to ensure the uniformity of the Spreader.
* Spreader process pay attention to observe the coating effect, timely adjustment parameters.
After use, it should be thoroughly cleaned immediately to keep the steel wire gap open and prolong the service life.
* The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound, but the operation should be careful to avoid damage to the steel wire or mandrel.
* For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging.
