Overview
RDS 32 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod. The product adopts wire-wound process, the mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, the surface is chrome plated, the total length is 1000mm, the effective application width is 900mm, the main rod diameter is 10mm, the steel wire diameter is 0.81mm, and the wet film thickness is 81.3μm.
Features
1. Derived from the professional brand RDS with a history of more than 80 years.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. The wet film thickness control is accurate and uniform, and the Spreader method is simple and cost-effective.
4. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
5. Provide customized services, allowing for specification selection and production according to specific needs.
Principle
The wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod. Its Working Principle is to control the Coating Weight by using the grooves formed by the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel. As the Coating flows through the rod body, the voids between the wires determine the wet film thickness that is ultimately transferred to the substrate. By changing the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number), the coating weight and film thickness can be adjusted quickly and flexibly.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
Select the appropriate rod number (e.g. 32 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (e.g. 81.3 μm).
2. Applicator rod is correctly installed on the Spreader equipment to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped.
3. Coating evenly through the Effective Spreader area (900mm) of the Applicator rod.
4. Coating of a predetermined thickness is transferred to the surface of the substrate through the coating rod.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean and maintain the Applicator rod in time.
Notice
• After use, it should be cleaned up in time to prevent the coating from drying up and blocking in the gap of the steel wire.
• When operating, ensure that the Applicator rod is installed firmly to avoid affecting the uniformity of the Spreader due to loosening.
• Depending on the Coating viscosity and characteristics, a Miscellaneous type of Metering rod (e.g. molded rod, notched rod, or double wound rod) may need to be selected for best results.
• The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound to extend service life and reduce costs.
• Customized products need to be submitted through professional tools and quoted according to specific specifications.
