Overview
The RDS 33 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod produced by RDS, an American company with a history of more than 80 years. It uses a classic "Mayer" rod design and is manufactured through a wire winding process. It is suitable for a variety of Spreader applications. It features simple operation, uniform coating, and cost economy.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, with more than 80 years of professional production experience.
2. Adopting the classic wire winding (Mayer rod) process, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. The wet film thickness is 83.8μm, the diameter of the steel wire is φ 0.84mm, and the diameter of the main rod is φ 10mm.
4. The total length is 1000mm, the effective application width is 900mm, and the clamping length at both ends is 50mm.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, and the surface is chrome-plated to enhance durability.
6. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
Principle
The working principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. As the coating flows through the precision wire wound on the mandrel, the gap between the wires determines the amount of coating transferred to the substrate, thereby controlling the thickness of the wet-film. By scraping, the excess coating is scraped away, leaving a uniform, thickness-controlled coating.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 33 #).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure stable installation.
3. Coating to be Spreader is applied to the substrate or Spreader roller in front of the Metering rod.
4. Start the device so that the Metering rod scrapes through the Coating layer at a set pressure or angle to form a uniform wet-film.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean up the Metering rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the wire winding gap.
Notice
* Please confirm whether the model and specifications (such as wet film thickness and effective width) of the Metering rod meet the current Spreader process requirements before use.
* When installing, ensure that the Metering rod is stable and the clamping parts at both ends are evenly stressed to avoid bending or deformation.
* During operation, pay attention to control the viscosity, feeding speed and scraping pressure of the coating to obtain the best Spreader effect.
* Thorough cleaning should be carried out immediately after use to remove residual Coatings, especially in the gap between the wires, to prevent blockage from affecting the next use.
* Use appropriate solvents and soft tools when cleaning to avoid damage to wire winding and chrome-plated surfaces.
* Metering rods should be stored in a drying and clean environment to avoid bumping and corrosion.
* Wire wrapping rods can be disbonded and rewound. For this service or custom Miscellaneous specifications, requests can be submitted through the designated channel.
