The RDS 34 #L1000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod produced by RDS, an American company with a history of more than 80 years. The product uses the classic "Mayer" wire-wound rod design to form a Measurement gap on the mandrel through wire-wound. It is a simple, accurate, uniform and economical film tool for Spreaders on a variety of substrates.

Principle
The Working Principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. Wire is wound around a smooth stainless steel mandrel at specific intervals, and the voids between the wires form the Measurement Cavity. When the Spreader operates, excess Coating is scraped off, and the amount of Coating retained in the voids determines the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. The wet film thickness is mainly determined by the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number).

Steps
1. Select the coating rod of the corresponding model (34 #) according to the required wet film thickness (86.4 μm).
2. Install the coating rod on the Spreader device to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped.
3. Place the Spreader Coating in front of the stick.
4. Pull the coating rod or move the substrate at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure to form a uniform coating through the steel wire gap.
5. Clean the coating rod in time after use.

* Please select the 34 #(wire diameter φ 0.86mm) model correctly according to the required wet film thickness (86.4μm).
* When operating, ensure that the coating rod is firmly installed, and the Spreader speed and pressure are uniform to obtain a consistent coating.
* After use, it should be cleaned thoroughly in time to prevent the coating from drying up and blocking in the gap between the wires.
* The wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound, but care should be taken to avoid damage.
* This product is a customized specification, the total length is 1000mm, and the effective application width is 900mm. Please pay attention to the size matching when purchasing.
* For higher viscosity coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging.
The chrome plating on the surface can extend the service life, but it is still necessary to avoid scratching with hard objects.
