Overview
The RDS 40 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years. The product is designed based on the classic "Mayer rod" principle. Measurement gaps are formed on the mandrel through precise wire-wound, which is used to Spreader wet-film of specified thickness on a variety of substrates. It is characterized by the simple, accurate, uniform and cost-effective Spreader method, which can quickly adjust the coating weight and adapt to a wide range of film thickness requirements, and has a wide range of applicability.
Features
1. From a professional brand: RDS is a professional brand in the United States with more than 80 years of experience in the development and production of Spreader Metering rods (founded in 1936).
2. Classic wire winding structure: using the original "Mayer" rod wire winding process, the size is 40, and the corresponding wire diameter is 1.02 mils (0.001 inches).
3, repeability: Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
4. Material and process: The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, and the surface is chrome-plated to extend the service life.
5. Flexible customization: Accept customization, and can provide a variety of bar specifications up to 12 feet (about 3658 mm).
6. Wide range of applications: suitable for Coating, window film, tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering materials, special paper and other industries.
Principle
The working principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. As the coating flows through the precision wire wound on the mandrel, the gaps (cavities) between the wires determine the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. During operation, the rod body rolls or scrapes on the surface of the substrate, and the excess coating is blocked and carried away by the wire, leaving only the amount of coating corresponding to the gap volume of the wire, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled coating.
