Overview
RDS 50 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods. Its products are widely popular for their simplicity, accuracy, uniformity and economy, and are suitable for a variety of substrates and industries. This model is a wire-wound rod, which is a classic "Mayer" rod with a wet film thickness of 127 μm.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Using the classic wire winding (Mayer rod) process, Spreader is simple, accurate and uniform.
3. Wire can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
4. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with a chrome-plated surface for good durability.
5. Provide customized services and can be produced according to specific needs.
Principle
Wire-wound Applicator rod's Working Principle is based on the "Mayer" rod coating method. Measurement cavities are formed by tightly winding wires of a specific diameter on a smooth stainless steel mandrel. As the rod body rolls over the Spreader substrate, excess Coating is scraped off by the wire, and the Coating retained in the gap is transferred to the substrate, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film. Wet film thickness is primarily determined by the diameter of the wound wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the appropriate winding rod model according to the required wet film thickness (such as 50 #corresponding to 127μm).
2. Install the Applicator rod to the Spreader device to ensure that both ends are firmly clamped.
3. Coating to be Spreader is evenly applied in front of the substrate or coating rod.
4. Spreader is completed by rolling the Applicator rod on the surface of the substrate at a stable speed and pressure.
5. Clean up the remaining Coatings on the rod body in time after use to prevent blockage.
Notice
• Applicator rod model matches the required wet film thickness before use.
• When installing, ensure that the rod body is level and firmly clamped to avoid uneven Spreader.
• Spreaders should maintain steady speed and pressure for best results.
• After use, it should be thoroughly cleaned in time, especially the gap between the wires, to prevent Coating curing blockage.
• The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound, but the operation should be careful so as not to damage the rod body or affect the accuracy.
• Avoid using hard objects to scratch the surface of the rod body, especially the chrome plating layer, to prolong the service life.
