Overview
RDS 60 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Measurement coating rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods, and its products are widely used around the world. This model adopts wire-wound process and is suitable for Spreader of various substrates. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating and high cost-effectiveness.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce material waste.
4. More than 70 wire sizes are available to meet a wide range of film thickness requirements.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface for good durability.
6. Can be customized according to specific needs, up to 12 feet in length.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. When the coating flows through the precision wire wound on the mandrel, the gap between the wires determines the wet film thickness of the coating. By scraping off excess coating, the rod body leaves a uniform, thickness-controlled coating on the substrate. This method quickly adjusts the coating weight and thickness by changing the wire diameter (i.e. rod number).
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
Select the appropriate rod number (e.g. 60 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (e.g. 152.4 μm).
2. Apply the Applicator rod correctly to the Spreader device to ensure that the effective application width (900mm) is aligned with the substrate.
3. Coating flows through the Applicator rod surface.
4. Applicator rod or substrate, using wire gap scraping uniform coating.
5. After finishing the Spreader, clean the rod body in time.
Notice
• Before use, select the appropriate Metering rod type (e.g. wire wound, molded, notched or double wound) according to the Coating viscosity and desired film thickness.
• For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging and line problems.
• Pay attention to protect the surface of the rod body during operation to avoid bumping and damaging the chrome plating layer.
• After use, the residual coating in the steel wire gap of the rod body should be thoroughly cleaned in time to prevent blockage, and the wire winding rod is easier to clean.
• Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound to extend service life and reduce costs.
• Customized products need to submit requirements and obtain quotations through designated tools.
