Overview
RDS 65 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Corporation in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods. Its products are based on the classic Mayer rod coating method, which is popular for its simple operation, accurate and uniform Spreader, and cost-effective. This model is suitable for a variety of substrates and can quickly adjust the coating weight and film thickness to meet a wide range of industrial Spreader needs.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. The classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design is a popular coating method.
3. Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and cost-effective.
4. Can quickly change the coating weight, provide a wide range of film thickness selection, wide applicability.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface for good durability.
6. Can be customized according to specific needs, up to 12 feet in length.
Principle
The Working Principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. Stainless steel wires are wound around the mandrel at precise intervals, and the voids (grooves) between the wires determine the thickness of the coating. As the coating flows through the rod body, excess coating is scraped off by the wire, and the amount of coating left on the substrate is precisely controlled by the diameter of the wire and the volume of the cavity formed by the winding, resulting in a uniform, Basis Weight Spreader.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod, molding rod, etc.) and specifications (such as wire diameter, rod body diameter).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly onto the Spreader device.
3. Adjust the pressure or coil tension of the Metering rod relative to the support roller to control the final Coating thickness.
4. Start the Spreader device so that the Coating flows evenly through the Metering rod.
5. After completing the Spreader, clean the rod body in time to prevent Coating from clogging the groove.
Notice
* Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound to save costs and reduce waste.
* For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging and eliminate lines.
* When operating, choose the appropriate wire diameter (rod number) according to the Coating viscosity and required film thickness.
After use, it should be promptly and thoroughly cleaned, especially the wire gap of the wire winding rod, to prevent dryness and blockage.
* Smoothing rods are commonly used to smooth Measurement Coatings whose Coating thickness is controlled by pressure or tension.
