Overview
RDS 70 #L1000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Measurement coating rod produced by RDS company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods, and its products are widely used around the world. This model adopts winding process and is suitable for Spreader of various substrates. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating, easy replacement and maintenance.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopting the classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, it is widely used and mature.
3. Coating thickness is determined by wire diameter. Spreader is uniform and accurate.
4. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface for good durability.
6. Accept customization and provide solutions according to specific needs.
Principle
The Working Principle of the Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. As the coating flows through the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel, the gaps (cavities) between the wires determine the wet film thickness of the coating. The excess coating is scraped off by the wire, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled coating on the substrate. Spreader thickness is primarily determined by the diameter of the wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
No specific compliance criteria were mentioned in the data.
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device.
3. Adjust the pressure or tension between the Metering rod and the support roller or substrate to control the Coating thickness (for types such as smooth rods).
4. Coating evenly flows through the surface of the Metering rod.
5. Start the device for Spreader, Metering rod will scrape off excess Coating, forming a wet-film of predetermined thickness on the substrate.
6. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking.
Notice
• Before use, please confirm that the Metering rod model (such as wire winding, molding, notching, etc.) matches the process requirements such as Coating viscosity and required film thickness.
• For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched rods or double-wound rods to reduce clogging and line problems.
• Although the wire winding rod has the advantage of being rewound, care should be taken to avoid damage to the wire winding during operation.
• After the Spreader is completed, the Metering rod should be thoroughly cleaned in time, especially the groove or winding gap, to prevent the residual Coating curing from causing blockage or affecting the next Spreader effect.
• Chrome plating on the surface can prolong the life of the rod body, but it is still necessary to avoid scratching with hard objects to maintain the surface finish.
• Customized products need to submit detailed requirements through official channels (such as the NBchao Metering rod customization tool).
