Overview
RDS 4 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod, and its products are widely used around the world. This model Metering rod adopts the classic "Mayer rod" design, which controls the thickness of the Spreader through a precise wire-wound structure. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform Spreader, and wide applicability. It is suitable for precision Spreader needs in a variety of industries.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopting a classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, the technology is mature and widely used.
3. Accurate wet film thickness, up to 10.2μm, to meet the requirements of precision Spreader.
4. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 with chrome plating on the surface, which has good durability and corrosion resistance.
5. Effective application width of 1900mm, total length of 2000mm, suitable for wide Spreader.
6. Wire winding rod design supports disbonding and re-winding, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the classic Mayer rod coating method. At its core, a specific diameter of stainless steel wire is tightly wound on a smooth stainless steel main rod. As the coating flows through the Metering rod, the regular grooves formed between the wound wire and the main rod determine the final thickness of the coating. The excess coating is scraped off by the wire, leaving a uniform, precise wet-film coating on the substrate. The thickness of the coating is primarily determined by the diameter of the selected wire (i.e. rod number).
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the Metering rod of the corresponding model (4 #) according to the required wet film thickness (10.2 μm).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that the two ends are firmly clamped.
3. Adjust the pressure or tension between the Metering rod and the support roller or substrate to control the coating transfer.
4. Coating evenly flows through the effective Spreader area of the Metering rod.
5. Drive the substrate under the Metering rod to complete the Spreader process.
6. Clean the rod body in time after use to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the gap between the wires.
Notice
• Before use, make sure that the Metering rod model (4 #) matches the required wet film thickness (10.2 μm).
• Pay attention to protect the surface of the Metering rod during installation to avoid bumping and damaging the wire winding structure or chrome plating.
• Make sure that the Coating is evenly supplied during operation to achieve a consistent Spreader effect.
• Thorough cleaning should be carried out immediately after use to prevent high Solid content or quick drying Coatings from clogging the wire winding gap.
• When cleaning, it is recommended to use a soft cloth and a suitable solvent to avoid scratching with hard objects, so as not to damage the wire winding.
• Keep drying during long-term storage to avoid rust caused by humid environment.
• The rod is a wire-wound design that can be disbonded and rewound to extend service life and save costs.
