Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the classic "Mayer rod coating method". When the coating flows through the precision wire wound on the mandrel, the gap (cavity) between the wires determines the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. Measurement and formation of a uniform coating can be made precisely by controlling the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number, e.g. 9 #corresponds to φ 0.23mm) and the winding spacing. Steps
