Overview
RDS 10 #L2000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod produced by RDS Corporation of the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in the development and production of Spreader Metering rod. Its products are based on the Mayer rod coating method and have the characteristics of simple operation, accurate Spreader, uniform and low cost. It can quickly change the coating weight and achieve a wide range of film thicknesses. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates. This model is a wire-wound structure with a wet film thickness of 25.4 μm.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used.
3. Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and economical.
4. Can achieve rapid change of coating weight and a wide range of film thickness, high flexibility.
5. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates and can meet the needs of a variety of industries.
6. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
7. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface to enhance durability.
Principle
The wire-wound Applicator rod works based on the Mayer rod coating principle. As the coating flows through the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel, the gaps (cavities) between the wires determine the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. By scraping or roller painting, the excess coating is scraped off by the wire, leaving a uniform, thickness-controlled coating. Its wet film thickness is mainly determined by the diameter of the wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the required wet film thickness (25.4 μm) and process requirements, confirm the selection of this type of Metering rod.
2. Install the Metering rod correctly in the clamping position of the Spreader device (such as the Spreader head) (50mm clamping length at each end).
3. Adjust the pressure or tension between the Metering rod and the support roller or substrate to control the coating transfer.
4. Coating evenly through the effective Spreader area (1900mm) of the Metering rod.
5. Spreader operation, Metering rod scraping off excess Coating, forming a predetermined thickness of wet-film on the substrate.
6. After completing the Spreader, clean the Metering rod in time.
Notice
* Before operation, please confirm that the Metering rod model (RDS 10 #L2000φ 10) matches the wet film thickness (25.4 μm) required by the process.
* Pay attention to protect the surface of the Metering rod during installation to avoid bumping and damaging the chrome plating layer or wire-wound.
* Ensure that the Metering rod is in uniform contact with the substrate within the effective application width (1900mm).
* After use, it should be cleaned thoroughly in time to prevent Coating from curing blockage in the steel wire gap.
Use appropriate tools and methods when cleaning to avoid damaging stainless steel wire wounds.
When storing, it should be properly placed to prevent bending and deformation.
* Wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound, but it needs to be operated by professionals to maintain accuracy.
