Overview
RDS 11 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods, and its products are widely used around the world. This model is a winding bar, which is a classic "Mayer" rod. It has the characteristics of simple, accurate, uniform and low cost of the Spreader method. It can quickly change the coating weight and is suitable for a wide range of substrates.
Features
The brand has a long history, dating back to 1936, and its technology is mature and reliable.
2. Using the classic wire-wound (Mayer stick) design, the Spreader effect is uniform and accurate.
3. Steel wire can be disbonded and rewound, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
4. Provide customized services that can be produced according to specific application requirements.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface to enhance durability.
Principle
The Working Principle of the wire-wound Metering rod is based on the regular grooves formed on the main rod by the wire-wound. As the Coating flows through the rod body, the voids (grooves) between the wires determine the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. Excess Coating is scraped off by the wire, enabling accurate Measurement and Control of Coating thickness.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod, molding rod, etc.).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly onto the Spreader device.
3. Adjust the pressure or substrate tension of the Metering rod relative to the support roller to control the Coating thickness.
4. Start the Spreader process so that the Coating passes evenly through the Metering rod.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the rod body in time to prevent Coating from clogging the groove.
Notice
The groove of the wire winding rod may be more likely to clog than the molding rod, and attention should be paid to cleaning it.
* When operating, choose the appropriate Metering rod type according to the viscosity of the Coating (such as notched rods or double-wound rods can be considered for high viscosity Coating).
* Pay attention to protect the surface of the Metering rod to avoid bumping and damaging the chrome plating layer.
* After long-term use, the wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound to extend the service life.
Customized products require detailed requirements to be submitted through professional tools.
