Overview
RDS 15 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Corporation (founded in 1936) in the United States. The product is based on the classic "Mayer rod" Spreader method, which has the characteristics of simple operation, accurate and uniform Spreader, and cost economy. It can quickly change the coating weight and achieve a wide range of film thicknesses. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates. RDS provides Metering rod with a variety of process specifications, which can meet the needs of Coating, Window Film, Tape, Release Paper, Photovoltaic Film, Wall Covering Materials, Specialty Paper and other industries.
Features
1. From RDS, a professional coating rod manufacturer with more than 80 years of history.
2. Adopting a classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. Accurate wet film thickness, Spreader uniformity is good.
4. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface for good durability.
5. Total length 2000mm, effective application width of 1900mm, suitable for wide Spreader applications.
6. Wire winding rod design supports disbonding and re-winding, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
7. Can be customized according to specific needs.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod Spreader method. When Spreader, excess Coating is applied to the substrate. When the Metering rod rolls over the wet coating, the grooves formed by the wound steel wire and the mandrel on the rod body will accurately scrape off and Measurement of excess Coating, leaving a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film. The thickness of the wet-film is mainly determined by the diameter of the wound steel wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Select the appropriate Metering rod model according to the required wet film thickness (such as 38.1 μm) (such as 15 #corresponding to the diameter of the steel wire φ 0.38mm).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader equipment to ensure that the two ends are firmly clamped.
3. Coating excess is applied to the surface of the substrate to be Spreader.
4. Metering rod smooth rolling over wet coating, scraping and Measurement of excess Coatings.
5. After completing the Spreader, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking.
Notice
• Before use, please confirm that the Metering rod model (e.g. wire diameter, rod body diameter) matches the required wet film thickness.
• When installing, ensure that the Metering rod is in uniform contact with the substrate within the effective application width and the pressure is moderate.
• After the Spreader operation is completed, the Metering rod should be thoroughly cleaned in time, especially the groove part of the wire-wound, to prevent Coating residue curing from causing blockage or affecting the next Spreader accuracy.
• Avoid bumping during operation and storage to prevent damage to the surface of the rod body or the wire winding.
• The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound for repeability. Pay attention to protecting the mandrel and steel wire during operation.
• For specific application requirements, customization requirements can be submitted through official channels.
