Overview
RDS 16 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod, and its products are widely used around the world. This model of Metering rod adopts wire-wound process and is suitable for Spreader of various substrates. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating and cost economy.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. Steel wire can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
4. Available in a variety of specifications, up to 12 feet in length, and can be customized.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface for good durability.
Principle
The Metering rod is a wire-wound rod, and its Working Principle is based on the precise winding of steel wires on the mandrel. The gaps (grooves) between the wires determine the thickness of the coating. As the coating flows through the rod body, the excess coating is scraped off by the wire, leaving only the coating in the wire gap, thus forming a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film on the substrate.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, choose the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 16 #L2000φ 10).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device.
3. Adjust the pressure or substrate tension of the Metering rod relative to the support roller to control the Coating thickness.
4. Start the Spreader device so that the Coating flows evenly through the Metering rod.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent Coating from clogging the wire gap.
Notice
After use, it should be cleaned up in time. The steel wire gap of the wire winding rod is more likely to be blocked than that of the forming rod.
* Pay attention to adjusting the pressure or tension during operation to obtain the ideal Coating thickness.
The rod is a wire-wound rod, which may be less durable than a double-wound rod, but it is less expensive and can be re-wound.
Customized products need to be submitted through the specified tool and confirmed according to the quotation.
* Please choose the most suitable model among various Metering rod types (wire winding, forming, notching, double winding, etc.) according to the Coating viscosity and process requirements.
