Overview
RDS 17 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod, and its products are widely used around the world. This model of Metering rod adopts a winding process, which is suitable for Spreaders of various substrates, enabling accurate and uniform film effects.
Features
1. Derived from a professional brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
4. Provide a variety of specifications to meet different Coating thickness requirements.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, with chrome plating on the surface for good durability.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the "Mayer" rod coating method. As the coating flows through the stainless steel wire tightly wound on the mandrel, the gaps (cavities) between the wires determine the wet film thickness transferred to the substrate. By controlling the diameter of the wire (i.e. rod number), the coating weight and film thickness can be precisely controlled. This method is simple, accurate and cost-effective.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the Metering rod of the corresponding rod number (17 #) according to the required wet film thickness (43.2 μm).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that the effective application width (1900mm) matches the substrate.
3. Adjust the parameters of the Spreader equipment so that the Coating flows evenly through the wire gap of the Metering rod.
4. Start the device for Spreader and use the Metering rod to control the amount of Coating transferred to the substrate.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent Coating from clogging the wire gap.
Notice
* Please confirm that the Metering rod model (RDS 17 #L2000φ 10) matches the required wet film thickness (43.2 μm) before use.
* Note that the effective application width of the Metering rod is 1900mm, the total length is 2000mm, and there are 50mm clamping parts at both ends.
* Spreader should be thoroughly cleaned in time after completion to prevent high viscosity Coating from clogging the wire winding gap.
* The wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound, but the operation needs to be careful to maintain accuracy.
* For higher viscosity coatings, consider using notched or double-wound rods to reduce the risk of clogging.
