Overview
RDS 26 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Measurement coating rod produced by RDS in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods. Its products are widely popular for their uniform, accurate, simple operation and economical and practical Spreader. The rod body of this model is made of stainless steel 303 mandrel, with a chrome-plated surface, a total length of 2000mm, and an effective application width of 1900mm. It is suitable for Spreader operations on a variety of substrates.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Using the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, the Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and economical.
3. Can quickly change the coating weight, film thickness range, a wide range of applicable substrates.
4. Wire winding rod design supports disbonding and re-winding, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
5. Provide customized services and can be produced according to specific needs.
Principle
The RDS wire-wound Applicator rod works on the principle of the Mayer rod coating method. As the rod body rolls over the Spreader substrate, the wire wrapped around the mandrel determines the wet film thickness. The voids between the wires contain and Measurement Coatings are made, and the excess Coatings are scraped off, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled coating on the substrate. The final thickness of the coating is determined by the diameter of the selected wire (i.e. rod number).
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. Select the coating rod of the corresponding rod number (26 #) according to the required wet film thickness (66.0 μm).
2. Coating is evenly applied to the front end of the substrate or in front of the coating rod.
3. Push or use the equipment to pull the coating rod to roll on the substrate at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure.
4. After finishing the Spreader, clean the rod body in time.
Notice
• Please confirm that the rod number (26 #) matches the required wet film thickness (66.0 μm) before use.
• Maintain uniform speed and stable pressure during operation to ensure uniform Spreader.
• After the Spreader is completed, the rod body should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the gap between the wires.
• Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, but professional operation is required to maintain accuracy.
• Avoid the rod body from being hit or bent to prevent damage to the wire winding or deformation of the rod body.
Store in a drying environment to avoid corrosion.
