Overview
RDS 27 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods, and its products are widely used around the world. This model of Applicator rod adopts wire-wound process and is suitable for Spreader of various substrates. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating, easy replacement and maintenance.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopting the classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, it is widely used and popular.
3. Coating thickness is determined by wire diameter. Spreader is accurate and uniform.
4. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
5. Provide customized services, allowing for specification selection and quotation according to specific needs.
Principle
The wire-wound Applicator rod works based on the Mayer rod coating principle. The stainless steel wires are wound around the mandrel at precise intervals to form a series of grooves. When the Spreader operates, the excess coating is scraped off by the wound wire, and the coating retained in the grooves (cavities) between the wires is transferred to the substrate, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film. The wet film thickness is mainly determined by the diameter of the wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 27 #).
2. Apply the Applicator rod to the Spreader device correctly to ensure that the clamping is stable.
3. Coating to be Spreader is applied to the front of the substrate or coating rod.
4. Applicator rod at an appropriate pressure and speed to scrape the Coating layer, scrape off excess Coating, forming a uniform wet-film.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Applicator rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking.
Notice
• Before use, please confirm whether the Applicator rod model (such as wire diameter, total length, effective width) meets the process requirements.
• When installing, make sure that both ends are firmly clamped to avoid loosening during the Spreader process and affecting the uniformity of the coating.
• Spreader should be cleaned immediately after completion to keep the grooves between the wires open for next use.
• The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound, but the operation needs to be careful to prolong the service life of the rod body.
• For high viscosity coatings, special models such as double-wound rods or notched rods can be considered to reduce clogging.
• The specific Spreader effect is affected by many factors such as Coating properties, substrate, operating parameters, etc. It is recommended to test first.
