Overview
RDS 29 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods, and its products are widely recognized around the world. This model Metering rod adopts the classic "Mayer rod" design. Measurement gaps are formed on the mandrel through precisely wound stainless steel wires to achieve accurate control of the amount of Coating Spreader. The wire-wound Applicator rod has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform Spreader, and high cost-effectiveness. It is suitable for Spreader process of various substrates.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, with more than 80 years of professional production experience.
2. Adopting a classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. Accurate wet film thickness control, this model corresponds to a wet film thickness of 73.7μm.
4. The diameter of the steel wire and the diameter of the mandrel are clearly specified, with the diameters of φ 0.74mm and φ 10mm respectively.
5. Total length 2000mm, effective application width of 1900mm, suitable for wide Spreader.
6. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has good corrosion resistance and durability.
7. The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound, which helps to save the cost of use and reduce waste.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS wide-wound Applicator rod is based on pre-metered Spreader technology. As the Coating flows through the surface of the Metering rod, the regular grooves (cavities) formed between the stainless steel wire wound around the mandrel and the mandrel determine the amount of Coating that can pass through, thus precisely controlling the wet film thickness of the substrate surface. Excess Coating is scraped off by the wire, allowing only Coating within the groove volume to pass through, achieving a uniform, Basis Weight Spreader effect.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate Metering rod model (such as RDS 29 #).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure stable installation.
3. Adjust the pressure or tension between the Metering rod and the support roller or substrate to control the Coating thickness (for types such as smooth rods).
4. Start the Spreader device so that the Coating flows evenly through the surface of the Metering rod for Spreader.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent Coating from clogging the groove.
Notice
* The winding rod should be cleaned thoroughly in time after use to prevent the coating residue from drying up and blocking the winding gap.
* Pay attention to protect the surface of the Metering rod during operation to avoid bumping and scratching, so as not to affect the uniformity of the Spreader.
Depending on the viscosity characteristics of the coating, different types of wire-wound rods, molded rods, notched rods, or double-wound rods can be selected to achieve the best Spreader effect and reduce clogging.
* This model of Metering rod is a customized product, and users can submit specific requirements for customization and iquiryenquiry through designated channels.
* After long-term use, the wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound to extend the service life and save costs.
