Overview
RDS wide-wound Applicator rod is a Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS company in the United States. The company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production. The product adopts Mayer rod coating method, which has the characteristics of simple, accurate, uniform and low cost of Spreader. It can quickly change the coating weight and achieve a wide range of film thicknesses. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates. RDS provides a variety of specifications of Spreader Metering rod, which can meet the needs of Coating, Window Film, Tape, Release Paper, Photovoltaic Film, Wall Covering Materials, Specialty Paper and other industries.
Features
The brand has a long history. RDS is an American company that has been developing and producing Spreader Metering rods for more than 80 years (founded in 1936).

3. Good flexibility, can quickly change the coating weight, achieve a wide range of film thickness, suitable for a wide range of substrates.
4. Provide a variety of Metering rod types, including wire-wound rods, molded rods, smooth rods, notched rods and double-wound rods, to meet different process requirements.
5. Available in bars up to 12 feet in length, with 15 different diameters of multi-grade stainless steel bars and more than 70 sizes of stainless steel wire.
6. Accept customization, and offer and produce according to the specific needs of users.
Principle
The RDS wire-wound Applicator rod works based on the Mayer rod coating principle. By placing a specific diameter wire-wound on the mandrel, the voids between the wires determine the thickness of the Spreader wet-film. As the Coating flows through the rod body, excess Coating is scraped off by the wire, and the amount of Coating left on the substrate is controlled by the diameter of the wire (i.e. the winding gap), resulting in accurate, uniform Spreader.
Applications
Coating, manufacturing window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
