Overview
RDS 35 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS Company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod. The product adopts the classic "Mayer" rod design, and the steel wire of a specific diameter is wound on the surface of the stainless steel mandrel to form a Spreader gap, which is used to achieve accurate and uniform film on a variety of substrates. The product mandrel has a diameter of 10mm, a total length of 2000mm, and an effective application width of 1900mm. It can provide a wet film thickness of about 88.9μm.
Features
1. Derived from a professional brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopting the classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, it is widely used and mature.
3. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface for good durability.
4. Support customization and provide solutions according to specific needs.
Principle
The working principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. During the Spreader process, the coating is applied in front of the rod body. As the substrate (e.g. film, paper, etc.) moves under the Metering rod, the wire wrapped around the mandrel scrapes off the excess Coating, and the gap between the wires allows the coating of the set thickness to pass through, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled wet-film on the surface of the substrate. The wet film thickness is mainly determined by the diameter of the wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Select the appropriate Metering rod model according to the desired wet film thickness (e.g. RDS 35 #corresponds to about 88.9 μm).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader equipment, ensuring that the rod body is parallel to the substrate or support roller.
3. Coating is applied to the substrate or Spreader system chute in front of the Metering rod.
4. Start the device so that the substrate passes under the Metering rod at a uniform speed for Spreader.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the steel wire gap.
Notice
• Make sure the Metering rod model matches the required Spreader thickness before use.
• When installing, ensure that the Metering rod is firmly fixed and parallel to the coating surface to ensure the uniformity of the film.
• After the Spreader operation is completed, the Metering rod should be thoroughly cleaned immediately to keep the wire gap unobstructed and prolong the service life.
• Please pay attention to safety during operation to avoid scratching or collision causing deformation of the steel wire.
• The rod is a wire-wound design, which can theoretically be disbonded and re-wound, but needs to be operated by professionals to maintain accuracy.
