Overview
The RDS 44 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a classic wire-wound Spreader Metering rod from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years. Based on the popular "Mayer rod" principle, the product controls the Coating thickness through precisely wound steel wire. It is easy to operate, uniform in Spreader, and cost-effective. It is suitable for Spreader processes on a variety of substrates.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, with more than 80 years of professional production experience.
2. Adopting a classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. Accurate wet film thickness and high uniformity of Spreader.
4. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has a chrome-plated surface for good durability.
5. Support customization and provide solutions according to specific needs.
6. Winding bars can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
Principle
The working principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. As the coating flows through the wires tightly wound on the mandrel, the gaps (cavities) between the wires determine the final wet film thickness left on the substrate. By scraping, the excess coating is scraped away, resulting in a uniform thickness coating on the surface of the substrate, determined by the size of the wire gap.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Select the appropriate Metering rod model (e.g. 44 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (e.g. 111.8 μm).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that the effective application width (1900mm) matches the substrate.
3. Coating flows through the surface of the Metering rod.
4. Push or pull the Metering rod, or make the substrate pass under the Metering rod for scraping.
5. After scraping, a uniform wet-film coating is formed on the substrate.
Notice
* Before use, please confirm whether the model, wet film thickness, effective width and other parameters of the Metering rod meet the process requirements.
* Pay attention to protect the surface of the Metering rod to avoid bumping and scratching, so as not to affect the uniformity of the Spreader.
* Coatings remaining on the rod body should be cleaned up in time after use to prevent clogging the wire gap.
* For wire winding rods, when the wire is abrasion or damaged, disbonding and re-winding can be considered to extend the service life.
Customized products require submission of requirements and confirmation of quotations through the specified tools.
