Overview
RDS 55 #L2000φ 10 is a wire-wound Applicator rod (wire-wound rod) produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS company has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod, and its products are widely used around the world. This model Metering rod adopts the classic "Mayer rod" design. It is made by winding a specific diameter steel wire with a stainless steel mandrel. It is suitable for Spreader process in a variety of industries. It has the characteristics of simple operation, uniform coating and high cost-effectiveness.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopting the classic wirewound rod ("Mayer rod") design, the technology is mature and widely used.
The wet film thickness is 139.7 μm, suitable for specific coating requirements.
4. Steel wire diameter (φ 1.40mm) and main rod diameter (φ 10mm) specifications are clear, Spreader accuracy is high.
5. Total length 2000mm, effective application width of 1900mm, suitable for wide Spreader operation.
6. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303 and has good corrosion resistance and durability.
7. Wire winding rod structure supports disbonding and re-winding, which helps to save costs and reduce waste.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer Rod (Mayer Rod) Spreader method. After the Spreader liquid is applied to the substrate, the Metering rod rolls or scrapes over the coating. A specific gap is formed between the steel wire wound on the mandrel and the substrate. Excess Coating is scraped off by the wire and retained in the gap, leaving a uniform wet-film coating on the substrate whose thickness is determined by the diameter of the wire. The wet film thickness mainly depends on the diameter of the steel wire used.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. According to the required wet film thickness (139.7μm) and process requirements, confirm the selection of RDS 55 #L2000φ 10 Metering rod.
2. Check the Metering rod Appearance to ensure that the wire-wound is uniform and non-damaged, and the chrome plating layer on the surface is intact.
3. Install the Metering rod on the Spreader device to ensure that the two ends are firmly clamped (50mm each), and the rod body is parallel to the substrate or back roller.
4. Coating is evenly applied to the substrate in front of the Metering rod.
5. Start the equipment so that the Metering rod scrapes the coating at an appropriate speed and pressure to form a uniform wet-film.
6. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time to prevent the Coating from drying up and blocking the steel wire gap.
Notice
* Before operation, please confirm that the Metering rod model (RDS 55 #L2000φ 10) matches the wet film thickness (139.7 μm) required by the process.
* When installing, make sure that the Metering rod is clamped correctly and kept parallel to the coating surface to avoid uneven Coating thickness.
* Thorough cleaning should be carried out immediately after use to prevent residual Coating curing from clogging the wire gap and affecting the effect and accuracy of the next use.
* Please use suitable solvent and soft cloth when cleaning, avoid scratching with hard objects, so as not to damage the steel wire or chrome surface.
* Metering rods should be properly placed during storage to avoid bumping, bending or heavy pressure to prevent deformation.
* The wire winding rod can be disbonded and rewound to save costs, but the rewinding needs to ensure accuracy, and it is recommended to operate it by professionals.
* This product is a specific specification, if you need Miscellaneous specifications (such as different diameters, lengths, steel wire sizes), RDS can accept customization.
