Overview
RDS 60 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States. RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of Spreader Metering rod. Its products are simple, accurate, uniform and economical, making them one of the most popular film methods. The total length of the rod body is 2000mm, the effective application width is 1900mm, and it adopts the chrome plating process of stainless steel 303 mandrel, which is suitable for Spreader applications of various substrates.
Features
1. Derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years, with reliable quality.
2. Adopt the classic "Mayer" wire winding rod design, which is widely used and popular.
3. The wet film thickness is 152.4 μm, determined by the diameter of the steel wire of φ 1.52mm, and the Spreader is uniform.
4. The diameter of the main rod is φ 10mm, with a total length of 2000mm, providing an effective application width of 1900mm.
5. The mandrel is made of stainless steel 303, and the surface is chrome-plated to enhance durability.
6. Wire winding rod design allows for disbonding and re-winding, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
7. Can be customized according to specific needs.
Principle
The Working Principle of the RDS Wire Winding Applicator rod is based on the classic Mayer rod coating method. The wires are wound around the mandrel at precise spacing, and the voids (grooves) between the wires determine the wet film thickness of the Spreader to the substrate. As the Coatings flow through the grooves formed by these windings, excess Coatings are scraped off, resulting in a uniform, thickness-controlled coating on the substrate. The chrome-plated surface facilitates Coatings flow and reduces residues.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The data did not mention specific compliance criteria.
Steps
1. According to the Spreader process requirements, select the appropriate RDS Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod, molding rod, etc.).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure that the two ends are firmly clamped.
3. Adjust the pressure or tension between the Metering rod and the support roller or substrate to control the Coating thickness (for types such as smooth rods).
4. Coating evenly flows through the winding groove area of the Metering rod.
5. Start the device to perform Spreader, and the gap between the windings will scrape off excess Coating to form a wet-film of a predetermined thickness.
6. After the Spreader is completed, clean the rod body in time to prevent Coating from clogging the groove.
Notice
* Before use, please confirm that the Metering rod model (such as wire winding rod, molding rod, notched rod, etc.) matches the Coating viscosity and process requirements.
When installing, ensure that the rod body is placed smoothly and the two ends are firmly clamped to avoid uneven Spreader.
* During the Spreader process, pay attention to control the Coating supply to avoid excessive overflow or Spreader defects.
* After use, the rod body should be thoroughly cleaned in time, especially the groove between the winding wires, to prevent the coating from drying up and blocking, which will affect the effect of the next use.
* The wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound to extend the service life, but the operation should be careful to avoid damage to the steel wire or rod body.
* For high viscosity coatings, consider using notched or double-wound rods to reduce the risk of clogging.
The chrome plating layer on the surface of the rod body needs to be properly protected to avoid scratches from hard objects.
Customized products require detailed requirements to be submitted through official channels, such as the NBchao Metering rod customization tool.
* This product is a Spreader tool. The specific Spreader effect is affected by many factors such as Coating properties, substrates, equipment and process parameters.
