Overview
The RDS 65 #L2000φ 10 wire-wound Applicator rod is a wire-wound Metering rod derived from the American RDS brand with a history of more than 80 years. The product uses the classic "Mayer rod" design to control the coating thickness through precise wire-wound. It is easy to operate, uniform in Spreader, and cost-effective. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates and Spreader needs in a variety of industries.
Features
1. Originating from the American RDS brand, it has more than 80 years of professional production history.
2. Adopting a classic wire-wound (Mayer rod) design, the technology is mature and reliable.
3. Spreader method is simple, accurate, uniform and economical, and is one of the popular film methods.
4. Can quickly change the coating weight, film thickness range, a wide range of applicable substrates.
5. Wire winding rods can be disbonded and rewound, helping to save costs and reduce waste.
6. Accept customization and provide solutions according to specific application requirements.
Principle
The working principle of this wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method. When the rod body is rolled or scraped on the Spreader substrate, the steel wire wound on the mandrel forms a specific gap with the substrate surface. Coating flows through the cavities between these wires, and excess Coating is scraped off, leaving a wet-film of uniform thickness on the substrate. The wet film thickness is mainly determined by the diameter of the wire.
Applications
Coating, window film, adhesive tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Select the appropriate Metering rod model (e.g. 65 #) according to the desired wet film thickness (e.g. 165.1μm).
2. Install the Metering rod correctly on the Spreader device to ensure its stability.
3. Coatings to be Spreader placed in front of Metering rod.
4. Start the device, so that the substrate (or Metering rod) moves at a suitable speed, so that the Metering rod scrapes the coating.
5. After the Spreader is completed, clean the Metering rod in time.
Notice
* After use, the rod body should be thoroughly cleaned in time, especially the cavity between the wires, to prevent Coating curing blockage.
Avoid bumping during operation and storage to avoid damaging the wire-wound structure and affecting the uniformity of the Spreader.
* Select the appropriate type of Metering rod (e.g. wire wound, molded, notched or double wound) according to the Coating viscosity and characteristics (e.g. easy to clog).
This model is a wire-wound rod, which may be less durable than a double-wound rod, but it is less expensive and can be rewound.
