Overview
The RDS 13 #3/8 "double wire-wound Applicator rod is a professional experimental Spreader tool for preparing wet-film with a thickness of 29.7 microns. The product is made of wear-resistant stainless steel, with a rod diameter of 9.52mm, an effective application width of 300mm, and a wire diameter of 0.33mm. As an American RDS brand product with more than 80 years of technical experience, it has a good reputation in the industry for good materials and High Accuracy (up to 0.1 microns).
Features
1. Double wire-wound design, suitable for higher viscosity coatings, can reduce clogging and eliminate stitches.
2. Wide and shallow groove design is conducive to the flow of heavy coatings.
3. Smaller top line design for more complete coating penetration.
4. Made of wear-resistant stainless steel, it is sturdy and durable.
5. High film accuracy, up to 0.1 micron.
6. Produced by the RDS brand with over 80 years of technical experience, the quality is reliable.
Principle
The double wide-wound Applicator rod forms a wide and shallow groove by wrapping a smaller wire around the tip of a larger rod body. This design allows the higher viscosity Coatings to flow better in it, reducing clogging. The smaller tip wire creates a smaller discontinuity in the Coating flow, allowing the Coatings to soak and spread more completely, ultimately forming a uniform wet-film of the specified thickness on the surface being Spreader.
Applications
Experimental film, paints prepative, Coating research and development, mass testing
Steps
1. Make sure the surface of the Spreader is clean and flat.
2. Coating an appropriate amount on the substrate in front of the starting end of the coating rod.
3. Hold both ends of the Applicator rod and smoothly pull the Applicator rod through the Coating area at a uniform speed and appropriate pressure.
4. After completing the Spreader, clean the Applicator rod in time.
Notice
• Applicator rod model matches the required wet film thickness before use.
• Maintain uniform speed and pressure stability during operation to ensure uniform film.
• Applicator rods should be thoroughly cleaned with a suitable solvent immediately after use to prevent Coating curing clogging grooves.
• Please keep it properly to avoid bumping and damaging the rod body and wire-wound structure.
• Bar of different specifications can be selected or customized according to experimental requirements.
