Principle
The PosiTector SST salt measurement instrument uses the conductivity Measurement principle to detect the concentration of soluble salts on the metal surface through a specially designed conductivity Probe. The instrument uses the Bresle test method to inject deionized water into the patch into contact with the surface, measure the conductivity of the solution and automatically convert it to the surface salt density.
Applications
Metal surface preparation, shipbuilding, Petrochemicals, bridge corrosion, industrial painting
Standards
ISO 8502-6, ISO 8502-9, US Navy NSI 009-32, US Navy PPI 63101-000, Navy NAVSEA 009-32, AS 3894.6, IMO MSC.215 (82), IMO MSC.244 (83), SSPC Guide 15, ISO 11127-6, ASTM D4940
Steps
1. Prepare the test surface and install the appropriate patch
2. Use syringes to inject deionized water
3. Connect the Probe to the patch
4. Start the measurement program
5. Read and record conductivity and surface density data
6. Transfer data via USB, Bluetooth or WiFi
Notice
• Check the valid period of the conductivity standard solution before use
• Make sure the test surface is clean and drying
• Use designated deionized water for testing
• Avoid operating the instrument in extreme temperature environments
Periodically calibrate instruments to ensure measurement accuracy
• Keep the calibrated certificate properly
• Test accuracy with original parts
