Overview
The RDS wide-wound Applicator rod (model RDS 6 #L1700φ 30.2) is a Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS Corporation in the United States. The company has more than 80 years of R & D and production experience since 1936. The product adopts the Mayer rod coating method, which is simple, accurate, uniform and economical. It supports rapid changes in coating weight and a wide range of film thicknesses. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates. RDS offers a variety of process specifications Spreader Metering rod, up to 12 feet in length, and accepts customized services.
Features
1. Using Mayer rod coating method, the operation is simple, the Spreader is accurate and uniform, and the cost is low;
2. Support quick adjustment of coating weight and film thickness, good flexibility;
3. Provide a variety of types of coating rods, including wire wound rods, molding rods, smooth rods, notched rods and double wound rods;
4. Customizable specifications, up to 12 feet, covering 15 diameters and more than 70 steel wire sizes.
5. Wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound, saving cost and reducing waste;
6. Smooth rods can be ground and plated with hard chrome to prolong service life;
7. Suitable for a variety of industries and substrates, providing Coater transformation solutions.
Principle
The wire-wound Applicator rod is based on the Mayer rod coating method, and the amount of paint transfer is controlled by winding or grooves on the rod body to form a uniform wet-film. The wire-wound rod uses the wire diameter to determine the Coating thickness, the molding rod forms a groove by rolling a solid steel bar, the smooth rod is used to smooth the previous Measurement paint, and the notched rod and double-wound rod reduce high-viscosity paint blockage and line problems through specific winding designs to ensure coating flowability and wettability.
Applications
Paint, manufacturing window film, tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Steps
1. Submit customization requirements through the NBchao Metering rod customization tool;
2. Obtain quotations based on specific requirements.
3. Select the appropriate coating rod type and specification;
4. Install coating rod to Spreader equipment;
5. Adjust the pressure or Web tension to control the Coating thickness;
6. Spreader operation and monitor uniformity;
7. Regularly clean and maintain the coating rod.
Notice
• Wire winding rod can be disbonded and re-wound to save costs;
• Molded rod grooves are easier to clean and less prone to clogging than wound rods;
• Smooth rods extend life by grinding and hard chrome plating;
• Notched rods and double wound rods are suitable for high viscosity coatings, but notched rods have poor durability;
• Detailed specifications need to be provided when customizing;
• Pay attention to control the pressure or tension during operation to ensure uniform coating.
