Overview
RDS wire-wound Applicator rod is a Spreader Metering rod produced by RDS Company in the United States, model RDS 45 #L1700φ 30.2. Founded in 1936, RDS has more than 80 years of experience in R & D and production of coating rods, and its products have been widely recognized in the Chinese market. The Mayer rod coating method is simple, accurate, uniform and low cost. It is the third popular film method, which can quickly change the coating weight and achieve a wide range of film thicknesses. It is suitable for a wide range of substrates.
Features
1. Spreader Metering rods available in a variety of process specifications, including wire winding, forming, smooth, notched and double wound rods
2. Up to 12 feet long, with 15 different diameters of multi-stage stainless steel rods and more than 70 sizes of stainless steel wire
3. Accept customization to meet the needs of different industries
4. Winding bar can be disbonded and re-wound, saving cost and reducing waste
5. The forming rod groove is not easy to clog and easy to clean
6. Smooth rod can be ground to meet any surface finish requirements, hard chrome plating to extend the service life
7. Notched rods and double-wound rods are suitable for high-viscosity coatings to reduce clogging and line problems
Principle
The wire-wound Applicator rod works based on the principle of Mayer rod coating method. The wire-wound rod determines the Coating thickness through the cavity between the wire windings; the molding rod controls the Coating thickness through the groove formed by the rolling of solid steel bars; the smooth rod controls the Coating thickness through pressure or Web tension; the notched rod forms a wide and shallow cavity by wrapping smaller wires at spacing, which makes the thick coating flow better; the double-wound rod improves the flow performance of high-viscosity coatings by wrapping smaller wires around larger wires.
Applications
Paint, manufacturing window film, tape, release paper, photovoltaic film, wall covering material, special paper
Standards
The product information does not mention specific compliance standards
Steps
1. Submit customization requirements through the NBchao Metering rod customization tool
2. Get a quote based on your specific needs
3. Select the appropriate coating rod type and specification
4. Install and use according to Spreader process requirements
Notice
• No minimum cost and installation cost around the bar
• Molded rods are less likely to clog and easier to clean than wound rods
• Smooth rods can be ground to meet specific surface finish requirements
• Notched rods are less durable than double wound rods but cheaper
• Double-wound rods are more durable than notched rods, but more expensive
• Different coating rod types are suitable for different viscosity coatings
• Detailed specifications need to be provided when customizing
