Principle
The PosiTector host performs measurements through compatible Probes, such as coating thickness measurement Probe detects Coating thickness using electromagnetic induction or eddy current principles, and Miscellaneous Probes such as asperity, ultrasonic, dew point, surface profile, infrared temperature measurement and soluble salt test Probe work based on corresponding physical principles. The host processes Probe signals, displays results via Touchscreen, and supports Data storage, statistical analysis, and pass/fail evaluation.
Applications
Coating thickness measurement, asperity measurement, ultrasonic thickness measurement, dew point test, surface profile measurement, infrared temperature measurement, soluble salt test, hardness testing, wall thickness measurement
Standards
ISO 2178、ISO 2360、ISO 2808、ISO 19840、ASTM B244、ASTM B499、ASTM D1186、ASTM D1400、ASTM D7091、ASTM E376、ASTM G12、BS3900-C5、SSPC-PA2、US Navy NAVSEA PPI 63101-000、US Navy NAVSEA 009-32、AS 2331.1.4、AS3894.3-B
Steps
Install 3 AAA alkaline batteries.
2. Select and connect compatible PosiTector Probes.
3. Turn it on and use the Touchscreen navigation menu to set parameters.
4. Carry out measurement, the host automatically displays the result and stores the data.
5. Use statistical mode to analyze data or export data via USB/Bluetooth.
Notice
Make sure the Probe matches the substrate type (e.g. F for ferrous metals, N for non-ferrous metals, FN for all metals).
• When used in harsh environments, pay attention to IP65 Protection Ratings, but avoid long soaking.
• Periodically calibrate for accuracy, refer to the accompanying calibrating certificate.
• Use shock absorber holsters to increase impact resistance and avoid violent falls.
• Pay attention to batch management when storing data to avoid data loss.
• Battery life may be affected by Frequency of use, battery backup is recommended.
