Overview
PUSHEN XB-I 20um Mayer Rods is a laboratory tool for preparing wet-film. Stainless steel wire is wound to form grooves to control wet film thickness. It can prepare 20 micron wet-film with a total length of 240mm and an effective application width of 200mm. Widely used in plastics, inks and other industries, stainless steel material ensures a long service life.
Features
1. Ideal for Spreader thin coatings, such as can Coatings and paper Coatings
2. wet film thickness engraved on the end for easy identification
3. Spreaders for soft materials such as paper, Cardboard, Foil, Leather, Test Cardboard, Spinning & weaving
4. Rod and winding are made of high-grade wear-resistant stainless steel
5. The coating rod model can be selected according to the formula: wet film thickness = Coating Weight g/(density × Solid content%) per square meter
Principle
The lab bar uses stainless steel wires to wrap around the surface to form grooves, and controls the wet film thickness through the gap between the wires, which is suitable for the preparation of wet-films such as inks films.
Applications
Paints, varnishes, inks, glues, plastics
Steps
1. Choose the appropriate type of coating rod according to the wet film thickness calculation formula
2. Place the coating rod on the surface of the material to be Spreader
3. Spreader the coating rod evenly
4. Check whether the wet film thickness meets the requirements
Notice
* The calculation formula of wet film thickness is for reference only, the actual thickness is affected by factors such as product ductility, viscosity, coating rod type and so on
* Samples need to be uniform, comparable, and thickness controlled accurately to ensure Test Reliability
* Best for Soft Material Spreaders
