Overview
US RDS #47 Mayer Rods is a manual coating rod specially used for preparing 107.4 μm wet film thickness. The total length of the coating rod is 400mm, and there are 50mm hand-held parts at each end. It is ergonomically designed to facilitate the operator to apply pressure evenly, making the Spreader process more convenient. RDS47 Mayer Rods are 1/4 diameter molded coating rods suitable for high viscosity experimental films, which are easy to clean and not easy to block impurities.
Features
1.Accurate wet film thickness of 107.4μm
2. Ergonomic design, with 50mm hand-held parts at each end
3. Overall length 400mm, application width 300mm
4. Made of stainless steel, durable and easy to clean
5. Suitable for high viscosity experimental film, not easy to block impurities
6. Molded coating rod design, easy to apply pressure evenly
Principle
RDS #47 Mayer Rods is produced through a wire-wound process. During the Spreader process, the operator holds the hand-held parts at both ends and applies uniform pressure to roll the coating rod on the substrate, resulting in a wet film thickness of 107.4 μm. It is designed to easily control the uniformity of the Spreader and is suitable for experimental Spreaders with high viscosity Coatings.
Applications
Experimental film, High Viscosity Coating Spreader
Steps
1. Spreader Substrate and High Viscosity Coatings
2. Handheld coating rod at both ends of 50mm grip part
3. Apply pressure evenly and roll the coating rod on the substrate
4. After Spreader is completed, clean the coating rod in time to prevent blockage
Notice
* Only for high viscosity experimental films
* It should be cleaned in time after use to avoid impurity blockage
* Spreader should apply uniform pressure to ensure uniform film thickness
* Avoid use in coatings that are not in the specified viscosity range
