Overview
PUSHEN XB-II 50um Mayer Rods is a laboratory tool for preparing wet-film. The wet film thickness is controlled by grooves formed by winding stainless steel wires. The product is made of stainless steel and has a long service life. It is widely used in plastics, inks and other industries.
Features
1. Ideal for Spreader thin coatings, such as can Coatings and paper Coatings
2. The wet film thickness is engraved on the end of the bar for easy identification
3. Works well on soft materials such as paper, Cardboard, Foil, Leather, Test Cardboard, Spinning & weaving
4. Rod and winding are made of high-grade wear-resistant stainless steel
5. Using stainless steel wire to wrap the groove to prepare wet-film of different thicknesses, suitable for inks film preparation
Principle
Mayer Rods uses steel wires of different diameters to wrap around stainless steel bars, preparing films of different thicknesses through gaps between the wires. Lab bars use stainless steel wires to wrap around their surfaces to form grooves that control wet film thickness, ensuring uniform, comparable, and accurate thickness samples.
Applications
Plastic, inks, paints, varnish, ink, glue, can Coatings, paper Coatings
Steps
1. According to the calculation formula of wet film thickness: wet film thickness = Coating Weight g/(density × Solid content%) per square meter for selection
2. Note that the actual wet film thickness is affected by factors such as product ductility, viscosity, coating rod type, etc
3. Spreader operation on the substrate surface using bar
Notice
* The calculation formula of wet film thickness is for reference only, the actual thickness is affected by many factors
* Samples need to be uniform and comparable, and accurate thickness control is the basis for testing Reliability
* Select the appropriate coating rod model to ensure Spreader effect
