Overview
Ford Ford viscosity cup is a Benchtop Ford viscosity cup designed according to the American ASTM D1200 standard, which is widely used in Europe, America and other countries. Ford Ford viscosity cup is divided into five models: Ford-1, Ford-2, Ford-3, Ford-4, and Ford-5. The outflow aperture is 1.9mm, 2.53mm, 3.4mm, 4.12mm, and 5.20mm. It is an instrument used in laboratories for viscosity measurement of Coatings, paints, inks, etc.
Features
1. The cup body is made of aluminum alloy and the aperture is made of stainless steel to ensure durability and accuracy; 2. A variety of models (Ford-1 to Ford-5) are available, covering different viscosity measurement ranges; 3. The design complies with ASTM D1200 standard and is suitable for laboratory environment; 4. The volume is 100ml, which is easy to operate and measure.
Principle
The Ford Ford viscosity cup calculates viscosity by measuring the time it takes for a fluid to flow out of a standard pore size, based on ASTM D1200, for viscosity evaluation of liquids such as coatings, paints, and inks.
Applications
Coatings, paints, inks
Steps
1. Select the appropriate type of Ford viscosity cup (such as Ford-4 for the range of 70~ 370cSt); 2. Ensure that the cup body is clean and drying; 3. Pour the liquid to be tested into the cup to full scale; 4. Record the time for the liquid to completely flow out from the outflow aperture; 5. Calculate the viscosity value according to the standard formula.
Notice
• Check the cup body and aperture before use for damage or blockage; • Ensure that the measurement Ambient Temperature is stable to avoid affecting the viscosity results; • Clean the cup body in time after each use to prevent residues from affecting the next measurement; • Only suitable for liquids with specified viscosity range, avoid using beyond the range.
