Overview
PUSHEN Ford viscosity cup (Ford cup) is a viscosity measurement instrument produced according to the American Society for Testing Materials standard ASTM D 1200, which is used to test the viscosity of coatings, paints, etc. The cup body is made of cathode aluminum oxide, and the outflow hole is made of brass material. According to the different outflow aperture, it is divided into five models: No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5, which are suitable for different Measurement time ranges. This model is Ford-2 #, equipped with a bracket for easy operation.
Features
1. The cup mouth is designed with an annular groove to store the overflowing liquid.
2. Dimension design can be used with viscosity cup bracket.
3. The structure is easy to clean, and the cup wall and outflow hole have no sinkage that is difficult to clean.
4. Production has consistent quality control.
5. Each cup is engraved with a unique serial number.
Principle
The Ford viscosity cup calculates the viscosity of the sample by measuring the time required for a certain volume (100 ml) of the sample in the aluminum cup to completely flow out of the bottom standard hole.
Steps
1. Install the Ford viscosity cup on the supporting bracket.
2. Make sure the cup is clean and drying.
3. Plug the outflow hole with your finger and pour the liquid to be tested into the cup until it is full.
4. Remove your finger and start the timer at the same time, recording the time when the liquid completely flows out of the cup.
5. According to the outflow time, refer to the standard conversion or check the table to obtain the viscosity value.
Notice
• Before use, make sure that the cup body and outflow hole are clean, drying, and free of foreign body blockage.
• Keep the cup vertical during testing and ensure that the liquid temperature is stable, as temperature can affect viscosity.
• Avoid bubbles when pouring liquid, so as not to affect the accuracy of measurement.
• After the test is completed, the cup should be thoroughly cleaned immediately to prevent the residue from drying up and blocking the flow hole.
• Please select the appropriate Ford viscosity cup model (No. 1-5) according to the approximate viscosity range of the liquid to be tested to ensure that the outflow time is within the recommended range (e.g. 30-100 seconds for this model).
