Overview
The CHENCHI XSL-1 water absorption meter measures the capillary liquid absorption height of test paper and Cardboard according to the Krem method. This instrument is suitable for the determination of capillary liquid absorption height of unsizing paper and Cardboard, but is not suitable for paper and Cardboard with capillary liquid absorption height less than 5mm within 10 minutes.

Principle
Immerse the lower end of a vertically suspended sample 5mm into the reagent and measure the capillary suction height after a certain period of time. The suction time can be selected according to product characteristics, such as 10min +/- 10s, etc.

Steps
1. Prepare a 250 x 15mm specimen
2. Hanging the specimen vertically
3. Immerse the lower end of the sample 5mm into the reagent
4. Choose the appropriate suction time (e.g. 10min +/- 10s)
5. Read the capillary suction height value
Notice
• Not suitable for paper and Cardboard with capillary suction height less than 5mm within 10 minutes
Specimens must be hung vertically to ensure test accuracy
• The suction time needs to be accurately selected according to the product characteristics
• When reading the height, make sure that the line of sight is perpendicular to the ruler
